"GROWING TOGETHER AND BUILDING FOR ETERNITY"
OUR VISION
We praise God for the spiritual impact that Life Point has made in the High Desert over the past 20 years. But our work here is far from complete.
We aim to deepen our discipleship ministry to those God has given us, to expand our gospel reach in the High Desert by making and growing disciples, and to strengthen our church family bonds as a transformed assembly who love and care for each other.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Why are we expanding our building? Isn't our current building adequate?
- The Lord has blessed Life Point with a beautiful, functional building. Then he enabled us to outgrow it. Only having two classrooms limits our ability to disciple the children, teens, and adults who already attend our church, especially during Sunday School and on Wednesday nights. Many Sunday mornings, visitors have a hard time finding seats, the walkways are uncomfortably crowded, and the junior church room is packed. These challenges are limiting our ability to reach people for Christ.
- Why start with more classrooms (phase 1) rather than an auditorium expansion (phase 2)?
- Our two classrooms are maxed out and insufficient to support a larger congregation. We already struggle to provide many of our members and regular attenders the evangelistic Bible studies or targeted discipleship and fellowship they need. If our congregation grows, we will not have space for a larger junior church group. These problems are important because our passion is to grow healthy, mature disciples, not simply to pack a room or pad our statistics. We must improve our ministry to the people already attending before we add more people.
- Why are we expanding the auditorium (phase 2) rather than building a new one on the dirt lot?
- When we built our current building, the hope was to eventually build a larger auditorium at the north end of our property and to turn the current auditorium into a fellowship hall. However, skyrocketing building costs have made this impractical. Expanding our current auditorium is a cheaper and more feasible solution to our needs.
- Why not secure a loan and build phases 1 and 2 at the same time?
- We would love to complete phases 1 and 2 as soon as possible, but we must make wise and responsible financial plans. Commercial mortgage rates are generally higher than residential rates, and we would pay a lot of interest by the time we paid off a mortgage large enough for phases 1 and 2. Monthly payments on such a large mortgage would also stretch our budget beyond what we can presently afford. We refuse to make a financial plan that is contingent on new growth and new giving for its success.
- When will phase 1 begin? Phases 2 and 3?
- Our architect is currently finishing the blueprints for phase 1. If we don’t run into any snags with the town planning department and we raise adequate funds, we plan to begin construction in the spring of 2025. We plan to raise half the cost for phase 2 before beginning construction and to secure a mortgage for the other half. Phase 3 appears to be several years down the road. All of that can change if the Lord provides in surprising ways or clearly redirects. We are excited to see what God will do.
- How much will each phase cost?
- Our contractor estimates that phase 1 construction will cost $300,000–$400,000 and that phase 2 construction will cost $800,000. Based on our current savings, we need to raise ~ $150,000 to finish phase 1.
