Why we are Baptist
We believe that being a Baptist is important because it identifies who we are.  As a church, what we believe determines who we are. A Baptist is not a denomination; it is an identification with core, distinctive, biblical doctrines. These distinctive doctrines are listed below by way of the acrostic BAPTISTS.

We believe that...

B

...The Bible is our only authority of faith and practice.

A

...each local church is Autonomous. That is, our congregation determines its own affairs, officers, and policies.

P

...each believer is a Priest before God with the authority to go directly to God in prayer. The Lord Jesus is our only go-between.

T

...there are only Two ordinances mandated for the NT church: Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

I

...each believer possesses Individual soul liberty. That is, they are accountable to God in maters of faith and practice; their faith and practice cannot be coerced.

S

...only Saved, immersed people may become members of our church.

T

...there are only Two offices mandated for the local church: pastor and deacon.

S

...the church is to be Separate from the state. That is, the church has no authority over the state, and the state has no authority over the church.
